Our Leadership Team
George Demou is the President and CEO of Avtex. George has a strong track record of acquiring, integrating and leading technology organizations. George has worked in the technology industry for over 25 years and run companies in the Contact Center & Consulting Services for the past 18 years. George has fulfilled many leadership roles and is very passionate about technologies role in delivering on a customer experience strategy.
George often contributes his expertise to the industry by participating in the Gartner forums, Network Groups, industry analyst’s interviews and various speaking engagements. George was recently published in the Business Journal, CIO Review, CRN Magazine and Solution Provider.
George has held seats on the:

In addition, George is actively involved in the community he lives and is a devoted husband and father of five children.
Chris Kumsher leverages more than 24 years of experience in accounting, financial and operational management with a proven background in technology companies. He has served in the Chief Financial Officer role at Avtex since 2008, and brings a balance of financial discipline, operational leadership and strategic direction to the business. Prior to joining Avtex, served as Controller for IKON Office Solutions after starting his career in public accounting for Coopers & Lybrand.
Chris is a graduate from the University of Northern Iowa with a B.A. in Accounting and a minor in Economics.
As Chief Experience Officer at Avtex, Kurt Schroeder is tasked with helping clients improve and innovate the delivery of customer experiences. Known for his outstanding organizational and consulting skills, Kurt has a thorough knowledge of customer loyalty, market research, go-to-market strategy, customer and social experience, sales effectiveness and product and experience innovation.
With over 30 years of experience Kurt Schroeder has a diverse industry background including agricultural, manufacturing, financial services, distribution, insurance, consumer packaged goods and non profits. Prior to joining Avtex, Kurt worked with a wide range of clients, including GE, 3M, USBank, Wells Fargo, United Health Group, numerous credit unions, and many manufacturers. Kurt holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Computer Science degree from Concordia University – River Forest, Illinois.
As the COO & General Manager of the Digital CX unit at Avtex, Todd Johnson oversees sales, operations and delivery organizations that serve clients with innovative technology solutions. Throughout his career, Todd has focused on building successful consulting organizations that enable customers to digitally transform their businesses. His work with Avtex is no exception.
Prior to Avtex, Todd held leadership roles at several leading software and consulting firms including HCL, Avanade and Microsoft. He has successfully built and managed large-scale project teams for global customers, leveraging local resources as well as multiple offshore delivery centers. Outside of Avtex, Todd enjoys travel, fitness, cheering Chicago sports teams and spending family time with his wife, two adultish children, and several dogs.
As COO & General Manager of the CX Engage business unit, Bryce Gibson manages a team focused on marketing, developing and deploying Contact Center solutions. Bryce has a strong track record of building and continuously evolving client service teams and offerings within growing technology organizations. Bryce has worked in the technology industry for over 20 years.
Bryce is Project Management Professional (PMP) certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI). As an alumnus of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Bryce is an avid Badger fan and more recently graduated from the Minnesota Executive Program at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. In his spare time, Bryce enjoys experiencing the great outdoors with his wife and two children.
As Senior Director of HR, Sarah Klass is responsible for managing talent acquisition, employee development, benefits, payroll, employee relations and compliance across the organization. Sarah focuses on solving business problems by leveraging the diverse experience and skill sets of Avtex employees and by aligning people to the right role within the organization.
Sarah has spent nearly a decade in the Human Resources field and holds degrees in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, an MBA from the University of Saint Thomas, and multiple certifications, including SHRM and PHR certifications. In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with family and pets, and watching baseball.
As Senior Director of Marketing, John Seeds is charged with evangelizing the innovative solutions Avtex has developed to help their clients meet the new expectations of modern consumers. This includes the oversight of brand storytelling, go-to-market strategies, product marketing, thought leadership, marketing technologies and business development.
John has spent the last decade of his career in the emerging areas related to CX. He resides in the Washington DC metro area where he moved shortly after obtaining a degree in marketing from the University of North Carolina. In his free time, he often can be spotted on social media with his wife in foreign cities seeking new adventures.
As Director, Avtex First Impressions, Lu Penn is charged with setting the tone for visitors to our Minneapolis office. In addition to serving as the office gatekeeper, Lu organizes staff travel, oversees catering for events, manages conference room scheduling and much, much more.
In her free time, Lu enjoys spoiling her grandkids, reading and writing, traveling and going on adventures with her husband. She also mentors young girls and married women, and serves as a leader within her church community.

Genesys, (also known as Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories, Inc.), is a company that sells customer experience and call center technology to mid-sized and large businesses. It sells both cloud-based and on-premises software. Genesys is headquartered in Daly City, California and has offices in Canada, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Australia. The company was founded in 1990 and was most recently acquired by Permira Funds and Technology Crossover Ventures in February 2012. Paul Segre has led the company since 2007. In February 2015, the company announced its 2014 revenue of $850 million.
